Custom Page Types
This topic describes the custom page types dashboard view. This view is used to customize common content page types such as listings and articles to better suit your web site visitors needs.
The custom page types view is accessible from the dashboard navigation tree under Site Settings. This view allows you to customize common ArchiTECH content types including:
- Articles
- Listings
- Listings with Dates
An article is a content type representing a topic and typically has an author and date of release. Articles are visible as individual pages on your site and on an article index page which shows them by date. ArciTECH includes two default article content types: blogs and news (your website may vary). You can create up to 10 additional article types.
Click the Empty / (Name) entry in the Value column to customize an article or listing.
A listing is a content type representing a place, activity or event on an ArchiTECH tourism website. Listings contain many properties such as addresses, contacts, images, map coordinates and, of course, description. ArchiTECH includes several built-in listing content types: Events, Deals, Restaurants, Lodging, Attractions and General (your website may vary).
Some listing types may include dates which define when that listing is relevant. For example, an Event or Deal are often limited to a specific date or date range. The ArchiTECH service treats these listing types differently in areas such as searching. When adding a custom listing type you may toggle date support on or off as needed.
You can create up to 10 additional listing types.
